Regional Competition & Trade Conference 2025 – A Day in the Life of a Business: Managing Merger Control in an Acquisition and Dealing with Collusive Behaviour and a Trade Crisis

On 16 July 2025, Rajah & Tann Asia’s Competition & Antitrust and Trade Practice organised the Regional Competition & Trade Conference, titled “A Day in the Life of a Business: Managing Merger Control in an Acquisition and Dealing with Collusive Behaviour and a Trade Crisis”. The event brought together experts and practitioners from the Rajah & Tann Asia network who tackled the latest developments in competition and trade law, with a focus on digital platforms and cross-border business risks. Highlights of the conference included:

  • navigating multi-jurisdictional merger control across Southeast Asia;
  • addressing trade compliance risks related to sanctions, export controls and rules of origin; and
  • exploring cartel risks involving parallel conduct, competitor collaborations and AI pricing algorithms.

Using a fictional e-commerce platform “Techno” as a creative backdrop, the organisers brought the issues to life through lively discussions, expert commentary, and a series of engaging roleplays.
