Rajah & Tann Asia AI Symposium 2025 – Gen AI in Action: Innovation, Regulation & Opportunity in Southeast Asia

On 23 July 2025, Rajah & Tann Asia (“RTA“) organised a regional artificial intelligence (“AI“) symposium, a flagship event focused on emerging technologies and their legal impact. Titled “Gen AI in Action: Innovation, Regulation & Opportunity in Southeast Asia”, the symposium held in Kuala Lumpur brought together industry leaders and legal practitioners from the RTA network who discussed the latest developments in AI and the evolving legal and regulatory frameworks shaping its use in Southeast Asia.

The panel speakers from the RTA network comprised Partners Zacky Z. Husein and Anastasia PR Daniyati-Saputra (Assegaf Hamzah & Partners); Rajesh Sreenivasan, Benjamin Cheong, and Tanya Tang (Rajah & Tann Singapore); and Supawat Srirungruang (Rajah & Tann (Thailand)). Together with Partners Yew Chen Kuok, Deepak Pillai, Sri Richgopinath, and Jane Guan (Christopher & Lee Ong) who acted as moderators for the various panel discussions, the speakers brought diverse perspectives and deep expertise to the table. Their presence underscored the strength of RTA’s cross-border collaboration and the shared commitment within the network to lead and shape the regional AI conversation.

Joanne Seah, Head of Innolex & Sales of Rajah & Tann Technologies, was one of the guest speakers, together with Darmain Segaran (National AI Office Malaysia (NAIO)), Nor Harliza Baharom (PETRONAS), Clarence Chan (PwC Malaysia), Dr Jasmine Begum (Microsoft), Wan Marzimin (Maybank).
